Chihuahua or small cats?
Chihuahua or very small cats, need lower doses. We recommend 1-5 drops, once a day only.
Meadowsweet contains salicylic acid – an analgesic like asprin, traditionally used by herbalists and a very common home remedy for pain reduction in dogs & cats. Turmeric has a beneficial effect on the liver & gall bladder (stimulates bile to help fat digestion) & helps to protect the liver from the effects of pharmaceutical drug medication. Turmeric is also shown in a laboratory setting to fight protozoan and is being investigated for its ability to protect the heart by preventing blood clots that may cause strokes and heart attacks. Turmeric benefits are numerous and this herb is known as one of nature’s powerful healers with a wide range of applications for many health problems including inflammation and pain reduction.
Pukatea NZ native remedy
Pukatea has anodyne (give comfort and pain relief) and analgesic (reduces or relives pain) properties and is an important part of this remedy. Pukateine an active ingredient is similar to some alkaloids found in Chinese herbs commonly used for pain relief. Any pain and aching symptoms including neuralgia are specific for prescribing Pukatea. Pukatea native plant remedy is used both for for people and pets.
Oats is a natural, mild anti-depressant & diaphoretic herb, which has the added benefit of lowering high cholesterol levels. Oat seed is commonly prescribed when a restorative nerve remedy is needed. Kawakawa -(Macro piper exelsum)
A powerful blood cleanser and excellent tonic useful for digestive upsets (stimulates the salivary glands); skin; boils; skin eruptions and infection & constipation. Kawakawa has been traditionally prepared by Maori and used for persistent infection - including fungal conditions (internally & externally). Kawakawa is commonly used for rheumatism, arthritis and neuralgia and used as a home remedy for pets skin issues including itching and slow to heal broken skin.
A common home remedy used in pet health remedies. Yarrow is a bitter digestive tonic that improves immune function and health generally. Yarrow aids in the elimination of toxins and waste through increased urine output and sweat. Yarrow has anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties. Yarrow has a calming effect on the mucous membranes and promotes healing.
